Village Wine Shop is two blocks from my house. While that alone is worth three stars, this shop has earned all five of theirs. They have a great selection of beer. While all of the local party stores do a good job stocking Michigan beers such as Atwater, Bells, Shorts and Founders, they also have some European brews that aren’t as easy to find. For instance, I can usually find a six of Polish beer whenever the mood hits. They also have a pretty extensive wine and liquor selection. And the staff is always happy to make a recommendation if you don’t know what you want. This place has a terrific neighborhood feel. Stop in. You won’t be disappointed.

Highly recommended..even better that it’s literally one minute from our house. Like other reviews say, service is very friendly and they always take their time to find you something within your price point. I commented that I was really looking for Brazilian Rum – cachaca – and was disappointed I couldn’t buy it from them. The owner too note and started to stock it the next week. Can’t ask for better service than that. Love the Village Wine Shop!

I was in a rush to fill my cooler and needed a one stop shop for adult beverages. I needed a good IPA, a brown ale, bottles of red and white wine and ice. I needed help choosing the brown ale and a red wine with a softer finish than what I usually drink. Staff came through with great recommendations. So much so that I am heading back up to buy a case of a lovely, reasonably priced French white. I was in and out in 15 minutes with my cooler completely ready to pack!

In addition to being a wine shop, they also have an outstanding selection of craft beer. I’m a big fan of MI beer and Village has the most extensive local and statewide selection of craft beer I’ve seen anywhere. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and great at making suggestions.
